RESUME
Cet article analyse la situation globale de la desserte en eau potable dans la ville de Kinshasa et le comportement de la population kinoise face à la problématique de l’approvisionnement. Il évalue également à travers une enquête socio-économique les besoins en eau potable de la population vivant dans les zones en extension, c’est-à-dire au bout du réseau de l’opérateur public. Enfin nous apprécions leur capacité et volonté à payer les services de cet opérateur.

SUMMARY
This paper analyses the general situation of drinking water supply in the city of Kinshasa and the behaviour of the population of Kinshasa in the face of the supply problem. It also assesses through a socio-economic survey the drinking water needs of the population living in areas in extension, that is to say at the end of the network of the public operator. Finally, he appreciates their ability and willingness to pay for the services of this operator.
