ABSTRACT

In a context of globalization and increased competition, the competitiveness of industrial firms depends largely on the quality of their human capital. This study analyzes the influence of human resource management on local production performance at the Matadi Flour Mill (MIDEMA), a company specializing in the processing of wheat into flour. Based on a qualitative approach combining semi-structured interviews, observation, and document analysis, it shows that training, motivation, working conditions, internal communication, and the workplace climate directly influence productivity, operational efficiency, and production quality. However, a lack of ongoing training, low salary incentives, and certain organizational rigidities still limit employee engagement and the company’s overall performance.
